SPONSORED TRIPS TO KEMET
2/23/19

This notice is to clarify a question that was asked about the sponsored trips to Kemet that are organized and conducted by Dr. Muata Ashby through the organization founded by him the SEMA INSTITUTE / TEMPLE OF SHETAUT NETER/EGYPTIAN YOGA.
The question arose because there are some current or past members of the Shetaut Neter community or students of Dr. Ashby or the Kemet University that have planned or conducted trips to Kemet. The inquiry was about if those trips were formally approved, sanctioned and or sponsored by Dr. Muata Ashby and THE SEMA INSTITUTE / TEMPLE OF SHETAUT NETER/EGYPTIAN YOGA..
Since Dr. Ashby does not know the contents of those trips or had any input into their planning, their contents such as the programs or the teachings that will be conveyed through them, so as to ascertain if those would be in harmony with the whole of Shetaut Neter wisdom, he cannot vouch for those programs. Only those trips that are vetted with Dr. Ashby and formally listed on the Egyptian Yoga or Kemet university web pages, and promoted through the Egyptian Yoga email groups, are approved and sanctioned by THE SEMA INSTITUTE / TEMPLE OF SHETAUT NETER/EGYPTIAN YOGA.
Also, for those who have joined us on previous trips to Kemet, please note that our registration may have included as stipulation of Propriety Information, requiring consent and permission from us before contact or in order to contact any of the business contacts in Egypt, procedures, contacts or venues used in the program.
The main purpose of this stipulation is to allow Sema first rights of choosing times & themes for Sema trips.
Secondly, to be sure there are no conflicts of interest relative to the time of year or trip trip themes for Sema Institute-Temple of Aset.
And thirdly, to be sure that the quality of trips meet a certain basic standard of narrative that is aligned with the Ancient Kemetic Teachings of Shetaut Neter.
To offer the service of “vetting” of trips being organized in the general community, so they are at a certain basic standard of narrative that is line with the Ancient Kemetic Teachings of Shetaut Neter, and not divergent teachings.
We cannot promote such trips through Sema, because of many logistical issues, but at least we can know what they are about and how they will be done, to be able to knowledge answer questions that come up from others in the community.
This statement has been issued to answer the question and avoid any further confusions.
